Engine 1282's Photo Gallery

A small assortment of photos of our Engine 1282, starting from when we acquired it in August 2014. This engine has the distinction of being the last fire engine built by the Van Pelt company before it was closed (though many of the former Van Pelt employees formed Hi-Tech Fire Truck, which remains in operation in Oakdale, California today.

The engine is featured in Chuck Madderom's "Van Pelt Fire Apparatus" book on the last page, 126. Engine 1282 bears the last and highest Van Pelt serial number, 831977.
